Badminton enjoyed success in 2016 - But more Government and Corporate support needed says GBA President

According to President of the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA), Gokarn Ramdhani, 2016 was a year with a lot of success and achievements at both the local and International level but says for the sport to really expand into areas like Berbice, Essequibo, and Linden more funding from Government and business is needed.


Local badminton ace Ramdhani attends NCCP workshop

Guyanese ace Badminton player, Shuttlesport Elite, Sunburst Champion, Narayan Ramdhani, who is currently in Vancouver Canada on a Badminton Scholarship, attended the National Coaching Certification Programme (NCCP) Shuttle Time workshop on December 27 at the Shuttlesport Badminton Academy in Port Coquitlam.



IGG Badminton..Suriname demolish Guyana 5-0

Without their best player Narayan Ramdhani who is unavailable due a scholarship in Canada, Guyana’s Badminton team were demolished 5-0 by Suriname as the action in the Inter Guiana Games (IGG) three-day multi sports Event at the National Gymnasium continued yesterday.



Woodpecker Products Annual Badminton Christmas singles 2016…Nicholas Ali and Priyanna Ramdhani claim Open titles

Nicholas Ali and Priyanna Ramdhani claimed the Open titles when the curtains came down on the Woodpecker Products Annual Badminton Christmas Singles tournament which started on Saturday and concluded on Sunday last at the National Gymnasium along with the Presentation which was done by NSC Director Christopher Jones, Ms. Shuffler and Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) Executives – Mr. Gokarn Ramdhani, Mr. Nicholas Waldron, Mr. Darrell Carpenay & Ms. Emelia Ramdhani.



CAREBACO Championships 2016 in Aruba…Guyana return home with 14 – medals: 2-gold, 9-silver & 3-bronze

The Guyana Badminton Association expressed pleasure with the over-all performances of its Four Member Team at the Caribbean Championships 2016 which was held in Aruba August 18-25.
